Selena Gomez is an actress and singer who started her career as a Disney Channel star in the show "Wizards of Waverly Place" and continued to act in movies like 鈥淎nother Cinderella Story鈥� and 鈥淢onte Carlo.鈥� She also has released music with her band, Selena Gomez & The Scene as well as had a successful career as a solo artist. In 2021, she starred in the television show 鈥淥nly Murders in the Building鈥� with Steve Martin and Martin Short.
Gomez was born on July 22, 1992, in Grand Prairie, Texas to parents Mandy Teefey and Ricardo Gomez. Gomez鈥檚 acting career kicked off at a young age. Before she landed her Disney role, she played Gianna on the children鈥檚 show 鈥淏arney & Friends鈥� alongside Demi Lovato.
In 2007, she started to play Alex Russo, one of the wizards in the Russo family. She continued to play the role for four seasons, until January 2012.
While on 鈥淲izards of Waverly Place,鈥� she was in the Disney movie 鈥淧rincess Protection Program,鈥� co-starring Lovato. She was also in 鈥淩amona and Beezus,鈥� and 鈥淪pring Breakers鈥� during this time.
In 2012, Gomez started playing the voice of Mavis in the first 鈥淗otel Transylvania鈥� movie. She went on to voice Mavis for three additional movies.

Gomez released multiple solo albums, her first called 鈥淪tars Dance鈥� in 2013, followed by 鈥淩evival鈥� in 2015 and 鈥淩are鈥� in 2020. She also has her own makeup line, Rare Beauty that she started in September of the same year.
Gomez has dated some big Hollywood namesin the past, including a high-profile romance with Justin Bieber. The two started dating in 2010 but were very on-and-off through their relationship. They ended things in 2014, but then got back together briefly in 2017 until 2018, right before Bieber got married to Hailey Baldwin at the end of the year.
